Bounce is proud to announce that we are sponsoring the Mary Towneley Loop Challenge 2015. The event will take place on Sunday 6th September 2015 and promises to be a corker.
This is one of the first events we ever did and it remains one of our favorites. The challenge is organised by Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue and proceeds go to supporting their brilliant organisation. To be honest, for what they provide on the day (namely support and vast quantities of snacks) the entry fee of £25 (early entry, £30 on the day) is a bargain.
The challenge itself is a 47 mile (75km) ride of epic proportions that begins in Waterfoot (Rossendale, not far from Burnley). We understand that the course record is a smidge over 4 hours but anything in the order of 6-7.5 hours is respectable, so you’ll appreciate that with those numbers, there is a lot of climbing to be done.
Staff from RPMRT will be on hand with regular feed stops and to shuttle any potential DNF’s back to the start. In short if you have ever fancied riding this route this is easily the best time to do it.
RPMRT are putting together a goody bag for the participants and these will include a discount voucher that you can use towards a MTB Fork, shock, Reverb Dropper Post or bicycle service with Bounce Cycles in Preston.
This is a brilliant, well organised event which raises money for a very worthwhile cause. If you interested in entering click here. There are only 300 places and they are filling up fast!
